Trying obsidian for note taking and organizing myself

After seeing some memes and posts about Obsidian on Twitter from TPOT folks, I decided to give it a try. I've always been a Markdown person, and there's something comforting about writing in plain text, knowing my notes will be readable decades from now. A few weeks in, and I'm genuinely enjoying it.

I had stopped journaling for a while. But there's something about Obsidian that made me want to write again. Maybe it's how natural it feels to link thoughts together, or maybe it's just the clean interface. Either way, I'm back to keeping daily notes, and it feels good.

Plugins

I'm keeping it simple with just a few plugins so far:

  1. Calendar: Helps me find my daily notes without thinking
  2. Dataview: Because sometimes I want to find patterns in my notes
  3. Day Planner: Keeps my daily schedule in check
  4. Tasks: For those things I shouldn't forget
  5. Natural Language Syntax: Makes reading more pleasant
  6. Mermaid Tools: For diagrams and visualizations
  7. Diagram Zoom Drag: Makes working with diagrams more comfortable
  8. Hider: Keeps the interface clean
  9. Linter: Helps keep my notes tidy
  10. Minimal Theme Settings: For a cleaner look
  11. Reminder: For those important todos
  12. StandardForm: Helps with logical notation
  13. Sync Google Calendar: Keeps everything in one place
